DAYTON, OHIO, January 21, 2010 - As a result of feedback from the nonprofit community, your Better Business Bureau presents Charity Chat: Making Smart Choices For Your Nonprofit, a series of valuable workshops designed specifically to assist in the process of meeting your BBB’s Standards for Charity Accountability and re-energize your nonprofit organization.

Join fellow nonprofit execs and invite your board chairs for this workshop series presented by staff from your BBB’s Charitable Advisory Service and professional coaches from Innovative Interchange to help you:

  • Improve communication
  • Develop a culture of openness
  • Appreciate and leverage diversity within your organization
  • Use creativity to improve fundraising
  • Meet BBB Standards for Charity Accountability

Learn from nonprofit experts during three dynamic, information-packed sessions:

February 23: Effective Communication & Governance - Learn tips for creating positive, open relationships among your staff, leadership and board of directors. You’ll also practice tools to help you clearly communicate your vision and mission and bring your organization into alignment with your goals.

March 2: Appreciating Diversity - Learn to see the value in diverse perspectives, ways of doing things and individuals within your organization’s board, staff and constituencies. We’ll also discuss the benefits of adhering to the Standards for Charity Accountability.

March 9: Creative Fundraising & Sound Accounting - Discover your capacity for thinking outside the box (while staying inside ethical boundaries) when it comes to fundraising. Learn strategies for responding to complaints and how to see the gifts within them.
